Broadcast mediums are most difficult to gain access to because the amount of broadcast time available is finite.   You may become frustrated, waiting for a turn on the air, often, not being selected to converse.  Or, worse, you state your position on a subject, and you get cut off and are subjected to criticisms which you are not allowed to defend.

But it's okay, people will hear you, they'll become familiar with the issues.   That's what's important.

What you need to understand about radio talk show announcers

Most talk show hosts are experts only because they say they are.  You don't need a degree, you don't have to write a book, you don't even have to have a license... what you have to have is the guts to talk to millions of people at a time and insist that you're right and whoever disagrees with you is a moron.

If you think you have to appease the announcer's ego... When you call a radio station, the producer answers the phone.  Be cordial, laugh a little, as if you're having   a good time discussing the issue.  Tell them you agree with one of the announcer's issues, but disagree with another, and think it would be really useful and entertaining to present your view.  Then tell them you've never been on talk radio before.  They love that.  It encourages other people who have never called before.

Remember, the producer controls the gate, and they get joy from 2 things: 1)   lively talk that produces good ratings, especially with callers who make the announcer look good and 2) the power to decide what goes on the air.

They also have a button... if you start getting unreasonable or vulgar on the air, they hit the button... which interrupts what you were saying... and it's set on a delay of 3-10 seconds, so they can cut it before it gets out.  Don't go on the air thinking you can just blurt something out and then hang up.

Do not identify yourself as having affiliation with any particular organization or purport to represent the views of an organization.  "News" people don't like to be infiltrated. If they ask you where you get your info and such, you could say, well, I like this one website, www.democraticFundamentalism.org   If they ask about that, then you have an opportunity to take over the conversation and say more about it.  That's success.

Remember, we don't really want you to "join" an organization... we just want to organize in such a way that our way of thinking can be displayed en masse, to prove that people who disagree with the way things are going... people who want to restore Democracy...  exist in huge numbers, and won't be suppressed by name callers and corrupt officials.
